Miltos Michailidis

“A Greek summer”

2 March – 22 April 2017

On Thursday, March 2 at 8.00 in the evening Maria Demetriades opens the exhibition “A Greek summer“ with the new work of Miltos Michailidis at the Medusa Art Gallery.

The exhibition features six paintings and two installations with letters made of ‘sand’.
The large-scale paintings depict summer landscapes with no human presence, although there are elements like buildings, buoys, marks, footprints and various traces in the sand to suggest it.
The absence of humans from the paintings combines with the irony of the two installations to make for an ambiguous imagery: are these really places of leisure and entertainment or is it that something more sinister has occurred there?

Miltos Michailidis is a graduate of Milan’s Brera Academy and has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad (Italy, Spain, France). This is his fourth solo exhibition at the Medusa Art Gallery.

Opening hours: Tuesday – Friday 11:00 – 14:30 & 18:30 – 21:30 – Saturday 11:00 – 15:00
