Entering our fourth year of collaboration with Moschoula and Frangiskos of the Franca Scala restaurant wine bar, in one of the most beautiful neoclassical houses of Parikia, we present the works of painter Elli Koutsoukelli.
 
“Painting on large sheets of paper and thematically starting from the facades and interiors of historic buildings, Elli Koutsoukelli ascribes to ink the role and the gravity of oil, using it in thick pastes which highlight the traces of a gestural painting that moves with ease between representation and the non-figurative.
Alongside this series, Koutsoukelli presents also some large works with charcoal on paper. Starting from the painterly pretext of depicting the thick foliage of trees from a disarmingly close distance, Koutsoukelli creates painterly windows that open towards nature and its skilful representation, but also towards the narrative of an inner reality as it is revealed by the endless trajectories of the charcoal on the paper.”
