Nakis Tastsioglou – Sculpture Kostas Lefkochir – Painting.
17th January – 25th February 2008
Carouge – Geneva

Maria Demetriades of Medusa Art Gallery & Christine Venturas of Krisal Gallery, they start a cooperation between their countries and their artists. On Thursday 17th of January, at 6p.m., in Krisal Gallery, Carouge, Geneva, there is the opening of the exhibition of Kostas Lefkochir with paintings and Nakis Tastsioglou with sculptures.

“The sculptures of Nakis Tastsioglou are very impressive filled with bold lines and intensive formalistic dimensions. The unadorned see through surfaces of Plexiglas extend with special geometrical grace around a metallic corpus – base, creating spectacular mental associations to the viewer with the assistance of light (natural or non) that reflects upon the construction – sculpture. Vulnerable and unbreakable, intangible and solid, non-existent and existent, invisible and visible, his work plays with the human senses, with visions, dreams and illusions, the everyday life and reality of the ever changing course of life.”
“The fact that Costas Lefkochir embraced painting instead of any other form of artistic expression is not coincidental. The artist develops the light – that literally nurtures every single one of his paintings – a relationship quite peculiar and trustworthy. This bond was expressed in various ways depending on the circumstances and was never falsified. The deeply inscripted light source has always been a privileged point of focus and attributed to the whole of his work and to every single materialization their initial essence.”
